Nerd Nite is a monthly café held in more than 75 cities across the globe. For more than three years, Philadelphia has taken part in this monthly lecture event where bookworms, geeks, and gurus gather for drinks in a fun, casual atmosphere. The event strives for a relaxed, nerd-tastic vibe.
Movies in Clark Park: Little Shop of Horrors

This summer, University City District will present its new Movies in Clark Park series, a five-week offering of free outdoor screenings beginning in August. University City’s Clark Park, located at 4398 Chester Avenue, will transform into an outdoor theater to screen showings of family favorites and classic films, including Pixar’s The Incredibles, the comedy classic Best in Show, and recent Oscar-nominee Selma. These free movies will engage the community and help bring a safe, family-friendly event to the neighborhood.

Hosted by the Old City Arts Association since its 1991 inception, First Friday is a unique cultural event in Philadelphia and one of the city’s most popular evening escapes. Held the first Friday night of each month, this arts community “open house” brings together city dwellers and suburbanites, contemporary arts and antique collectors, aficionados of classical and contemporary design, and theater and performance buffs.
Movie Night at the Betsy Ross House: Wasp Woman

Starting May 1, join the Betsy Ross House for the return of the First Friday favorite, Movie Night Under the Stars & Stripes! May through October, kick back, relax, and enjoy a selection of cult horror classics from the 1950s and 60s in the historic courtyard. Be sure to arrive early for special after hours tours of the House starting at 5 pm.
