Boricua Restaurant #1 is Set for a Grand Re-Opening in Northern Liberties With Live Performances and Music
Puerto Rican cuisine is back in Northern Liberties as Boricua Restaurant #1 (1149 N. 3rd St.) is set for a grand re-opening on September 11th. From 2-8 pm enjoy live performances from Los Bomberos De La Calle with traditional Puerto Rican dances including Bomba and Plena. In addition Boricua Restaurant #1 will also have both DJ B3BO and DJ OSKI spinning Spanish and English mixes.
“The re-opening Boricua Restaurant #1 means that we are showcasing “AGAIN” the Puerto Rican cuisine flavors that our grandmother & mother showed us and now we can continue to share the flavors with Northern Liberties & the city. We were at this location for 2 years but had to put a pause because of staffing and we opened a bigger location, Boricua Restaurant #2 in Port Richmond,” states CEO Jazmin Serrano.
Boricua Restaurant #1 will be helmed by franchise owner, Rob who adds, “I am very excited to continue the legacy of the Serrano Familia with their Puerto Rican family recipes in Northern Liberties. To be one of the very few Latin Family Owned Restaurants in the area is a true blessing from God. As we continue this journey together, I want our customers not to look at Boricua #1 as restaurant but as a home. We brought back a few chairs for some indoor dining. As they taste the traditional Puerto Rican food, we want them to be transported to the island of Puerto Rico.”
As for the menu, guests will see some changes including baked chicken, Pastelillos (Chicken & Pork), empanadas, fried foods and some new delicious desserts. Also, weekend specials with new items.
“I really want to push for great customer service and interaction. We want to engage with customers as if they are our family, just like the island of Puerto Rico. Our main focus is to build great friendships and business relationships in the surrounding area and try-state area. We have been blessed to do big catering contracts from 20 people – 4,000 people with major companies,” Rob states. The hours of operation will be Monday Through Saturday 11 am to 8 pm and closed on Sundays.
