Bluebird Distilling Celebrates 4th Anniversary with Bluebird Bonanza
Bluebird Distilling, Phoenixville’s award-winning grain-to-glass craft distillery, is celebrating its fourth anniversary with Bluebird Bonanza, an indoor-outdoor party, as well as three limited spirit releases, on Sunday, June 23rd from 1-6 pm.
Guests will enjoy new and unique gin and brandy cocktails from Beverage Manager Matt Giarratano at both of Bluebird Distilling’s bars, including the new Barrel Room side bar, live music courtesy of The Holts and Chris and Kellina, and a newly expanded outdoor patio with food trucks and lawn games such as Hook & Ring Toss, corn hole, and more.
“The anniversary party is always my favorite day of the year,” said Bluebird Distilling Founder, Jared Adkins. “This year, we wanted to give back to all of our regulars and fans of the distillery with a new spirit release and I’m excited to announce we’ll be bringing back two of my favorite limited edition spirits from our past.”
Adkins is honoring the fourth anniversary by releasing a limited-edition Peach Brandy ($39.99 / 375ml), boasting notes of peach, sugar, caramel, burnt toffee and candied fruit. Distilled in collaboration with A’Dello Vineyard and Winery, this spirit is created using fresh Harvested PA peaches – picked fresh, cored by hand, then crushed, fermented and tossed in the still. The spirit was then aged in new charred oak barrels for two and a half years. This release is extremely limited as only 100 bottles are available at the distillery.
In addition to the peach brandy, Bluebird Distilling is bringing back two limited edition spirits from its archives, including the Blueberry Brandy ($39.99 / 375ml) and Barrel Rested American Gin ($44.99 / 750ml).
Bluebird Distilling was awarded the 2019 Innovation Award in the brandy category for the Blueberry Brandy, a passion project turned work of art. Local blueberries were harvested, crushed, fermented and distilled into a delicate blueberry spirit, which was then aged in new American barrels, lightly charred to caramelize the barrel’s sugars. The light blueberry spirit fuses with the oak creating tantalizing notes of blueberry, vanilla, oak and crème brûlée.
The Barrel Rested American Gin is a marriage of epic proportions. The gin base spirit is distilled from scratch and is then redistilled with a propriety blend of citrus, juniper, and botanicals. The American style gin is then rested in freshly dumped Four Grain Bourbon and Wheat Whiskey barrels for one year. The aging process awakens the gin to boast velvety layers of vanilla, citrus, honeysuckle, candy and spice.
These three limited-edition spirits will only be available at the Phoenixville distillery. Guests can enjoy complimentary tastes of all three at the Bluebird Bonanza.
