Reading Terminal Market today announced that it was once again voted Best Public Market in America following a USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice competition.

For the second year in a row, Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia’s historic public market and a 501(c)3 non-profit, came out on top of an initial list of 20 markets across the country. That list was curated by a panel of 10Best local experts and contributors, and voters participated to narrow it down to the top 10. Voting ran from February 1 through February 28 with readers able to vote once per day. Joining Reading Terminal Market in the top three spots are Seattle’s Pike Place Market and Detroit’s Eastern Market.

“It’s an honor to be voted Best Public Market for another year. This recognition means a lot to us because it comes from the customers we see every day, visitors who seek us out when they come to town, and longtime supporters who have fond memories of the Market no matter how recently they’ve shopped or dined with us,” said Annie Allman, CEO and General Manager of Reading Terminal Market.

“This year has been another full of challenges, and here at Reading Terminal Market we see our hardworking small business owners continuing to innovate and provide for customers despite the ever-changing obstacles COVID-19 presents. It’s heartwarming to know that this passion and dedication is recognized by so many at a national level. Thank you to all who voted for us – we will continue to provide the best experience for many years to come!”

Reading Terminal Market is home to more than 70 small, family-owned businesses. The Market is open 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. seven days a week and proudly provides access to fresh, affordable food for its communities alongside global flavors, artisan goods, and some of Philadelphia’s favorite products. More than 50 merchants are available for delivery within 10 miles of the Market through Mercato.
