An Andrew Zimmern Inspired Sandwich, Rita’s, Chick-fil-A & More are Coming to Citizens Bank Park!
They may have to remix the classic “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” jingle because attending a Phillies game means waaaay more than just peanuts and crackerjacks. From Schmitter’s to Tony Luke’s steaks to Crab Fries the options are almost dizzying. So when we got news that Citizens Bank Park is adding even more belt busting items, we figured me may have to pack the Mylanta for our next game.
Traditionally Citizens Bank Park is usually ranked among the best parks food out of all of the MLB stadiums. However, it’s obvious the folks over at Aramark are upping the ante when it comes to fan’s culinary experience when watching the Phills.
This year you can expect a few new choices. Probably making the biggest splash will be a Korean fried pork belly sandwich inspired by Andrew Zimmern, host of Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods (you know the bald guy that describes every food as being “earthy, nutty and gamey”). The sandwich will tickle your taste buds with ingredients such as gochujang sauce, pineapple and chili lime salt. Available only at Harry the K’s, we anticipate lines of foodies waiting to taste this bad boy. Harry the K’s is also adding another sandwich to its repertoire. A new turkey burger topped with shallot marmalade and sharp cheddar on a sesame bun as well as a new smoked brisket sandwich with creamy cider coleslaw and whiskey bbq sauce.
Looking for something more on the lighter and refreshing side? Rita’s has finally made its way into Citizens Bank Park serving their famous water ice. We don’t know what took so long for this perfect summer time marriage but we’re glad it’s finally happening.
Last but not least is Chick-fil-A. A step-up from traditional fast food joints, Chick-fil-A is like the Target of fast foods. Quality stuff and good prices. However, if you plan on attending a Sunday game, they will abide by their corporate “closed on Sunday”rule, so no dice.
