The Scrapple & Apple Festival is Coming to the Reading Terminal Market With 20+ Merchants, Live Music, and More
Reading Terminal Market will host a Scrapple & Apple Festival on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. featuring sweet and savory delights from dozens of merchants. The indoor, pay-as-you-go festival will celebrate fall flavors and invites attendees to enjoy small bites from 20+ Market merchants, live blue grass music, seasonal kids crafts, and more.
Live entertainment will be provided by the Huston West Band from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Family friendly activities include apple and pig craft decorating, bobbing for apples, and a Market-wide ‘Golden Apple Treasure Hunt’.
Leading up to the festival Reading Terminal will host a Scrapple Sculpting Contest on Thursday, October 10 at 11 a.m. and the resulting creations will be on display at the Scrapple & Apple Festival. Attendees of the festival can vote for their favorite to win via the “popular vote”. Artists, scrapple super fans, and any other interested individuals can sign up to participate in the contest at readingterminalmarket.org/event/scrapple-apple/. Contestants will be given five pounds of scrapple and sculpting tools and will have 90 minutes to complete their creation. Local artist, educator, and curator Sherman Fleming will be on-site at the October 10 event to announce the “judges vote” winner.
