Wine and Pastelillos Anyone? Mural City Cellars Welcomes Amy’s Pastelillos as Their Last Chef Resident

Puerto Rican wine maker Mural City Cellars is closing out their popular Chef Resident series with a fellow Puerto Rican. Starting April 6th Amy’s Pastelillos will be setting up shop at the winery to sell her Puerto Rican menu items to go along with the variety of wines at Mural City Cellars’ Pop- Up Wine Bar & Bottle Shop located at  2146 E Susquehanna.

Mural City Cellar owners Nicholas Ducos and Francesa Galarus introduced the Chef Resident series back in November 2022 after meeting several food vendors through their Wine Garden Pop-Ups and have since welcomed an eclectic line-up of area chefs that included Chef Rob of Sauce Boy, Chef Lynh of Angie’s Viet Cuisine, Chefs Ashley & Katie of Dream World Makes, Chefs Andy & Gabe of Molto Bene Ravioli, and Chef Reuben & Cory of Make’m Bake’m.  Last but not least Chef Amy will close out the series.

Amy’s residency will run through May 21st by walk-in only (no reservations) and will  feature pastelillos of course, as well as Puerto Rican snacks such as fried cheese with guava dipping sauce, tostones paired with a variety of stews and fish along with desserts like tembleque (coconut pudding).Guests can order wine and food separately for a complete meal or just a drink and a snack. Each dish on Amy’s menu will be paired with a specific Mural City wine that guests can choose to order as well.  A kids menu will also be available for parents looking to wine and dine with the family. In addition to the food and wine Mural City will also feature curated DJ listening nights & wine classes.

“We’re removing the snobbery of wine drinking and pairing and having fun with it. Why not be able to enjoy a Vidal Blanc bubbly Pet-Nat with Picadillo Pastelillos? This is a super unique program where two Latin-owned businesses are working together to bring something special to the community,” Francesca states.

Hours at the Wine Bar are the following (the kitchen closes 15 minutes before the bar):

Monday, Thursday-Friday 4-10

Saturday 2-10

Sunday 2-8
