Franklin Square’s Ice Princess Weekend Includes Ice Sculptures and Appearances From Elsa, Anna & Friends
If you’re looking for a family friendly event this winter, Franklin Square’s Ice Princess Weekend is back with plenty of Disney characters and entertainment. Elsa, Anna, and some of their friends, including Isabella from Encanto and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog will be at Franklin Square January 20th and 21st 5-7 pm each day.
Guests will get to enjoy themed ice sculptures created by local artisans from Ice Sculpture Philly. For additional entertainment, enjoy the Franklin Square Electrical Spectacle presented by PECO, a free holiday light show with more than 200,000 lights choreographed to Winter Wonderland, by Johnny Mathis. The light shows begin every half hour starting at 5 pm.
More family fun can be found around the parks heated tent where, bonfires are available for guests to warm up to as well as s’more stations, hot chocolate and beer & wine for adults. In addition Franklin Square’s newest feature, Street Curling is also available. Guests can book a 30-minute session for up to 8 players at each of two rinks for $40 per session. Street Curling hours through February 26, 2023, are (weather permitting) 5 – 7 pm Thursday & Friday, 12 – pm Saturday and Sunday, January 12 – February 26, plus Mondays, January 16 & February 20.
Franklin Square is open 10 am – 7 pm, Thursdays – Sundays, through February 26, open January 16 (MLK Day) and February 20 (Presidents’ Day). SquareBurger is open 12 -7 pm, Thursdays – Sundays, through February 26. All times and days are weather permitting.
