The Murder Themed Burlesque Show “Cena Mortem” is Coming to Fabrika

Welcome to the last dinner you’ll ever have..

Latin for “Dinner with Death,” Cena Mortem is a dinner experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Inspired by New York’s “Queen of the Night” party, Val Teachout sought out a small team of creatives – photographer K.Spence, dancer/choreographer Teddy Fatscher of Matter Movement Group, Iris Spectre, Eric Jaffe and Fagl Roq – to produce a murder-themed burlesque dinner and show at Fabrika on Sunday, November 21st.

Cena Mortem’s entire show features 14 performers – hosted by Jaffe – and explores the glamour and horror of a dinner riddled with murder. With performance pieces titled “Demon Sluts,” “Red Waltz” and “Orgy” (yes, you read that correctly), the event promises to push the limits of sexuality and mortality. Fabrika boasts a space of 9,800 square-feet, complete with a hydraulic center stage, chain hoists for aerial acts, and support beams so everyone in the venue feels part of the show..

But the performances are only half the attraction. Each ticket includes a 3-course, family-style dinner, curated by Fabrika’s general manager Anthony Santini and head chef Jimmy Cutshall. Cena Mortem’s goal is to get attendees to literally break bread with one another, to socialize outside their respective circles as they once did pre-Covid. The fixed menu starting at 7:30pm will also be paired with specialty cocktails created by Don Julio Tequila.

While Cena Mortem features performers in lavish costumes, the creators of the show want guests to participate as well. We encourage all to dress exquisitely for a macabre dinner party; the more exquisite, the better! Dress code isn’t enforced, it is highly encouraged to enhance the experience.

After dinner, Fabrika transitions to an open after party, with sounds from DJ Electric Honey, who is also providing original music for the show. Tickets are available in three tiers: Ultra VIP – a front row seat to the show with complimentary champagne; VIP lower level tickets with access to a cocktail hour as well as an intimate performance pre-show, and GA upper-level tickets. Can’t make it to the show? After party tickets (free to show attendees) are only $10 starting at 10pm. Tickers are available at cenamortem.com
