NBA Players Will Wear a “Smart Ring” to Detect COVID-19 Symptoms!
NBA Players Will Wear a “Smart Ring” to Detect COVID-19 Symptoms!
The NBA is trying to do everything they can to “protect” and ensure the safety of players as they plan to restart the season in Orlando July 30th. One of the cautionary measures the NBA plans to make are smart rings that players may wear to help detect COVID-19 symptoms.
The Oura smart ring can reportedly forecast and predict when players begin to experience COVID-19 related symptoms up to three days in advance. The players will also be able to monitor their health data through the ring’s features. This same data will also be studied by scientists at the University of Michigan. For those that are unable to dunk or have no jumpshot, you can purchase your own ring on the Oura website. Prices range from $299-$399.
This isn’t the only piece of fancy tech the players will have access to. Disney will provide players with a “Disney Magic Band” that will be worn at all times. The band will allow players to safely move through checkpoints. “Social distancing alarms” will be heard if players are too close to each other for an extended period of time.
NBA players will have the option to wear a ‘smart ring’ when the NBA restarts at Disney World.
