City Tap House Teams up with Allagash Brewing Co. to Celebrate Saison Day!
City Tap House, one of Philadelphia’s most popular food-and-beer destinations, is teaming up with Allagash Brewing Company to host the 4th Annual Saison Day celebration on Saturday, April 8th at City Tap House Logan Square.
From 1-5pm, City Tap House will pay homage to the saison’s multiplicity of different flavors, colors, and ingredients by pouring 24 different saisons from 20 different breweries, including: Free Will Brewing Co., Forest & Main Brewing Co., 2SP Brewing Company, Brewery Ommegang, Sly Fox Brewing Company, Iron Hill Brewery, Dogfish Head Brewery, Yards Brewing Company, Allagash Brewing Company, and more!
Additionally, 12 homebrewers from the Philly Homebrew Club will be on site pouring their own brews for saison lovers to try.
“With all due respect to the uber popular & diverse IPA categories,” said Andy Farrell, City Tap House Brand Director, “saison is my favorite style. Its traditional complex fruit vs. spice character makes it wildly refreshing and a great partner with food—which is important to us at City Tap. It also feels like a celebratory style… celebrating life and friends and feasting. If I was a beer, I’d be a Saison.”
Saisons – meaning “season” in French – are characteristically brewed during the colder, less active months in farmhouses and then stored for drinking during the hot, summer months.
