The 2015 Philadelphia Diner en Blanc Recap

The chance of rain was 80%.  The chance of fun?  100%.  This pretty much sums up the 2015 Philadelphia Diner en Blanc.  4,500 people from in and around the region gathered at the Naval Yard for the grand daddy of all pop-up diners.

Thousands upon thousands of people registered in hopes to secure a spot in the all-white attire affair.  For those lucky enough to attend this year’s event it was nothing short than memorable.  Despite the rain, the weather didn’t put a damper on the attendee’s spirits.  The festivities kicked-off at 7 pm but no one knew exactly where the the 2015 Philadelphia Diner en Blanc would take place until 6:30 pm, giving everyone a half an hour to make their way to the secret location.

As diners trickled in, so too did the rain off and on.  Some wore ponchos while others had umbrellas to shield themselves from the elements, but most braved the storm in nothing more than a hat.  Drenched or dry, the party went on with live music, a simultaneous lighting of sparklers and of course a huge dance party.

Although a far cry from last year’s South Broad St. location, this year’s Diner en Blanc when on without a hitch.
