PHILADELPHIA, PA — Spooky season is here, and Founding Footsteps is ready to help Philadelphians and visitors get into the spirit. The company, recently named the #1 History Tour in the United States by USA TODAY, is offering two Halloween-themed BYOB trolley tours that take guests through the city’s sordid, haunted, and unforgettable past: The Philly True Crime Tour and Spirits of Philadelphia: A BYOB Trolley Tour Through Philly’s Haunted Past.

“Philadelphia’s history is filled with tales of untimely deaths, making us one of the most haunted cities in America,” said the team at Founding Footsteps.

The Philly True Crime Tour

Now offering public tickets, The Philly True Crime Tour will run every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., beginning Thursday, October 15. This 21+ BYOB trolley tour explores the history and sites of true crime in Philadelphia. Guests will hear stories of some of the most heinous murders committed in the city, delivered by an expert guide. Live musical performances from some of Philadelphia’s most talented artists will also take place on the trolley throughout the experience.

Please note: this tour contains graphic and disturbing content and is recommended for adult audiences only.

Spirits of Philadelphia: A BYOB Trolley Tour Through Philly’s Haunted Past

Every week at 7 p.m., Founding Footsteps loads guests onto a trolley for a two-hour, interactive ghost hunting experience filled with ghost stories, haunted history, and supernatural tales rooted in real Philadelphia history. The tour winds through the city’s most storied and eerie locations, beginning at the final resting place of Philadelphia’s most famous Founding Father and working its way back in time.

A highlight of the route is a stop at Washington Square Park, one of the city’s most historically significant and notoriously haunted landmarks, which served as a mass burial ground dating back to the Revolutionary War era. Led by expert storytellers, the tour brings legends of restless spirits and haunted locales to life.

Equal parts history lesson and ghost tour, the trolley format makes it an ideal group outing for friends looking for something a little out of the ordinary. Guests are invited to bring their own drinks, settle in, and let the stories unfold.
