It’s not that we can’t enjoy this tasty food and tequila any other day, it’s just that today it’s extra special. It’s like the Valentine’s Day for taco eaters. You just want to give a little more love. To help you share your appreciation for all things Mexican, we put together a list of 5 Cinco de Mayo festivals in Philly you won’t want to miss. We’re talking live music, DJ’s, entertainment and of course some of the best food and drink specials in town. ¡Orale!
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta @ Morgan’s Pier
Beginning at 4 pm, Morgan’s Pier is celebrating Cinco De Mayo! Get your sombrero ready and ándale on over to take advantage of their food and drink specials, including: Chips & Salsa, DIY Tacos $6 21st Amendment El Sully Drafts $4.50, Tecates $5.50 Coronas, $7, Epsolon Margaritas, $7 Frozen Specialty Cocktails.
Cinco de Mayo Block Party @ Jose Pistola’s
Beginning at 3 pm head over to Jose Pistola’s in Center City as Yards will be featuring this year’s annual block party Cinco de Mayo celebration! What to expect: a ton of Yards, a ton of Margs, Tequila, a dope DJ, Sara Walker’s plethora of pinata skills, Jose Luis on the grill, & a ton of fun!
Cinco de Mayo Street Festival @ El Rey
Kicking-off at 12 pm the 2nd Annual Cinco de Mayo block party will be serving up Mexican street fare (tacos, quesadillas, corn on the cob and churros) and plenty of beverages for your choosing! From 12-6pm, check a mariachi band will roam the block and at 6pm, DJ Gun$ Garcia starts spinning from the balcony!
Cinco Days @ Lucha Cartel
The festivities kick-off of course on Cinco De Mayo! Thursday May 5th $5 Food & Drink Specials ALL DAY! Then the Fiesta continues all weekend long…..
Street Festival @ Xochitl
4pm the festivities start on Cinco de Mayo, Xochitl will celebrate with a menu of Mexican street food and special pricing on their famed margaritas. Party goers will enjoy tasty dishes, all priced under $10 at the bar, and the Xochitl margarita, made with juiced-to-order limes, for only $6. Also on May 7th they will be featuring their second annual pig roast tacos.
#PTW16 Cinco De Mayo Block Party
Beginning at 3 pm, The Philly Junto and N3rd Street are partnering up to present Philly’s first ever Community Block Party at The Piazza! More than 60 carefully curated tech companies, restaurants, businesses, and bars will be showing off some of their goods for the entire community to see. There will be tables and demos throughout the entire day.
