Yesterday the Wawa on 13th & Chestnut Closed Its Doors For Good
Forget “Wawa runs” now its more like “Wawa on the run.” That’s because Wawa will now be harder to come by in Center City as the convenience store company just shut down another prime location on Monday. This closure comes on the heels of their Erie Ave. location that was shut down earlier this month.
If you recall, Wawa also shut down its flagship store at Broad and Walnut last year citing “the pandemic coupled with some operational uncertainties of today.” This time Wawa states that the Chestnut Street closure is due to “operational challenges along with other factors led to the decision to close the store.”
The remaining Wawas in the area that are walkable alternatives are 1190 Market and 33 S. 16th, as well as their Old City location at 6th and Chestnut.
