Want to Go for a Run at the Zoo? The Philadelphia Zoo Announces Their 5K “Run Wild for the Zoo” Event
Join more than a thousand runners and walkers on Sunday, April 28, for Philadelphia Zoo’s “Run Wild for the Zoo 5k and One-Mile Fun Run.” This race takes participants through the Zoo’s 42-acre campus and raises money for the 1,900 animals that call the Zoo home.
“Our supporters make a world a difference for the animals in our care,” says Chief Development Officer Neil Batiancila. “We’re excited to host this race and fun run to allow our community a unique way to experience and support the Zoo. Their gifts support our nutrition, veterinary and enrichment programs, all of which are essential to animal well-being.”
Participants are encouraged to register by April 1 to guarantee an exclusive race day t-shirt. All runners and walkers must be registered by April 22, and there will be no race day registration. Registration is $40 for the 5k, and all runners are also encouraged to raise an additional $100 for the Zoo as a part of their participation. Registration is $25 for the fun run/walk. Registration includes admission to the Zoo for the day. For more information, including race maps, at: philadelphiazoo.org/
