With Halloween around the corner, here’s an event that will test all of your senses. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart,  Vientiane Bistro (2537 Kensington Ave.) is brining back their “Adventurous Eats” dinner for its 9th year on Thursday October 31st from 7 pm- 9 pm. Yes, almost the last decade, brave foodies have gathered for Adventurous Eats where the menu item consists of freaky and exotic menu items.

Just how exotic you ask? The menu will consist of some sort of bug, a weird texture, organ meats oh and don’t forget to  save room for dessert. “I was inspired to share this dinner experience when a loyal customer asked “What is mom cooking back there?!” Long behold she was having a bowl of vermicelli noodle soup with organ meat and silk worms,” states Vientiane Bistro owner Sonny Phanthavong. “Guest can expect to be grossed out, anxious, squeamish or even walk out! (Only one time someone did this). We welcome guest into our home with an open mind to experience our culture. As always this event is BYOB,” Sonny adds.

Dinner is $80 per person and can be reserved at in the link located in the Vientiane Bistro bio.

To get a better idea of what this dinner consists of, here is a menu from a past Adventurous Eats event:

Gang Keung Nai- bitter bile soup with meat organs

Gang Kee Lek – a green stew with cow skin

Kai Luk- bird embryo inside egg

Mook Pa-steamed in a banana leaf, salmon belly with ant larvae and wild mushrooms
