This New Year’s Eve There Will Be Three Fireworks Shows on the Waterfront
The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is excited to bring Philadelphians and visitors an exceptional lineup of festivities to ring in the New Year. With the holiday falling on a Friday night, folks can celebrate well into New Year’s Day with the VISIT PHILADELPHIA New Year’s Day Fireworks Spectacular. And of course, the ultimate tradition for ringing in the New Year is still the Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront with TWO shows at 6PM and Midnight, [JM1] [NP2] plus ice skating at Philly’s favorite outdoor rink with festive foods, drinks, kids’ activities, and more.
In addition to the annual Parties on Ice at Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest (5 pm and 10 pm), guests can also watch in awe as fireworks illuminate the sky at Cherry Street Pier which will host two New Year’s Eve events, a Kids New Year’s Eve Countdown with Fireworks from 5pm – 7pm, and a 21+ New Year’s Eve bash with fireworks from 10pm – 1am.
The main event, and everyone’s favorite tradition, is on December 31 with the Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront at 6PM and Midnight. There are no other fireworks shows quite like them, with sweeping waterfront views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and more than 3,000 explosive devices and three miles of wiring that allow the sparkling lights to be seen for miles in all directions. All three shows will be synchronized to their own unique, themed soundtrack that will be played on speakers at free viewing locations at Penn’s Landing and outside Rivers Casino and simulcast on KYW Newsradio 1060AM and 103.9FM so revelers can tune in from wherever they are. The 6PM fireworks on both nights will also be broadcast live on NBC10 and Telemundo62[JM3] .

For the past 13 years, Rivers Casino Philadelphia has provided the support needed to produce two shows at 6PM and Midnight on New Year’s Eve for the entire city to enjoy. “Rivers Casino Philadelphia is proud to support these New Year’s Eve fireworks shows [JM4] along the Delaware River Waterfront, as it has every celebration since 2009,” said Emily Doñes, community relations manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “This time-honored city tradition is the perfect way to ring in 2022.”
This year, the 6PM show is titled “TRIUMPHANT NEW YEAR” and features pieces that have been either composed or conducted by the great American composer, John Williams.
The Midnight display, “GET YOUR GROOVE ON”, invites the crowd to have some fun with a show that takes us on a trip through the ‘70s.
The all-new VISIT PHILADELPHIA New Year’s Day Fireworks Spectacular will take place at 6pm and is themed “LOVE + GRIT”, an inspirational and uplifting show filled with powerful and emotional tracks that will lift spirits and ignite hope for the wonderful year to come. The show features a diverse lineup of ALL FEMALE ARTISTS to celebrate the empowerment of women.

The fireworks will be programmed to a soundtrack of strong, powerful female voices, bringing this important theme to life. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy as we ring in the New Year.”
A masterful fireworks display is brought to life by its accompanying soundtrack. The soundtracks for all three shows have been produced by Todd Marcocci, president of Under the Sun Productions, Inc., whose brilliant work always heightens the emotions evoked, creating an overall magical experience to enjoy these shows.
There are numerous ways to watch the Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront. Of course, the best place to witness the wonders is on the Waterfront at one of the many attractions that will be hosting parties including: Rivers Casino Philadelphia, Cherry Street Pier (see more details below), Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest (see more details below), Battleship New Jersey, Independence Seaport Museum, Spirit of Philadelphia, Moshulu, Hilton Philadelphia Penn’s Landing, Dave & Buster’s, FringeArts, and more. Ring in 2022 in style with Parties on Ice! There are two great sessions both including the Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront, the biggest and brightest fireworks shows in the area.
Tickets include (1) complimentary Ferris wheel ride, a photobooth with props and take home photos from Old City Photobooth, digital caricatures with take home portraits from Digital Blacksmith, balloon twisting by Scott Meyer, an all-night DJ, party swag while supplies last, spectacular views of the Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront at 6 pm and Midnight (depending on the party time purchased), and an assortment of festive fare in the Lodge from our amazing food vendors Chickie’s & Pete’s, Skelly’s Pizza, and the brand new Black Iron BBQ by Craft Hall, as well as soft drinks. Skater tickets also include skate admission and skate rental.
