This Friday Pita Chip is Offering Free Falafel to the First 79 Customers and 79 Cent Wraps & Bowls the Whole Day
In celebration of the anniversary of Pita Chip’s Co-founder Omar Alsaadi’s emigration to the U.S. in 1979, the modern Middle Eastern quick-serve restaurant with locations at 1600 North Broad Street on Temple University’s Campus, and at 3601 Market Street in University City, will be offering complementary falafel wraps or bowls to the first 79 customers at each location on Friday, December 10th beginning at 11 a.m., when the shops open (limit one per person). Additionally, anyone who misses the giveaway can purchase falafel bowls or wraps for only $0.79 throughout the day. No purchase is necessary for the giveaway.
Alsaadi moved to the United States from Damascus, Syria in December of 1979, and in conjunction with his “Americaversary,” he and his partners are excited to commemorate the milestone with a giveaway.
“Every year, I like to do something to celebrate living my American dream, and this year I’m really excited to celebrate by giving back,” said Alsaadi. My partners and I decided that offering one of our most beloved menu items to our loyal customers and anyone who wants to try what we feel is some of the best falafel in the region for free or seriously discounted made a lot of sense. Temple and University of Pennsylvania students will have just finished classes and will be preparing for finals, and a free or almost-free meal is a nice way to get anyone through the stresses relating to exams. We’re also excited to share a taste of our Modern Middle Eastern menu with our neighbors in North and West Philly who want to check out our food.”
Pita Chip’s menu includes scratch-made hummus and sides, as well as salad bowls, rice bowls, and wraps featuring chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, falafel, and roasted vegetables.
