There’s an Amazing Race Style Event Happening in Old City and it Will End With Pizza & Beer at The Betsy Ross House
Think Amazing Race meets National Treasure. Well, that’s what’s going down in Old City when Slice of History: Race Through Time takes place on Friday June. 28th. Starting at 6 pm, registered teams will take part in a neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt for a chance to win cool prizes including tickets to the Chinese Lantern Festival.
Slice of History will include challenges, clues, while “racing through time” Along the way, participants will visit historic sites, meet some Founding Fathers (and a mother) and learn a few things they didn’t teach you in school. The event will then finish with pizza and beers from Philadelphia Brewing Company in the Betsy Ross House courtyard.
Slice of History is part of the kick-off to Civic Season 2024 and is organized by the National Center for Civil and Human Rights and Made by Us. Civic Season is a program designed to “understand the past and shape the future, co-created by Gen Z and the nation’s cultural institutions. The events take place in the summer between Flag Day and July 4, exploring history and civics,” organizers stated.
