The Wardrobe Announces Call for Clothing Donations for Afghan Refugees
The Wardrobe is assisting the Nationalities Service Center with providing clothing for hundreds of Afghan refugees arriving in the greater Philadelphia region.
The Wardrobe is specifically seeking donations of:
-
Traditional Muslim wear – specifically hijabs, headscarves, and burkas
-
New, unused socks, underwear, and bras with tags or in packaging only (for all genders)
-
Modest casual staples (long sleeve shirts, pants, and shoes for all genders).
-
Gift cards for The Wardrobe to purchase these items (Visa, Target, etc.)
We encourage purchasing traditional Muslim garments from local stores to support neighborhood businesses while helping the evacuees. Donations are accepted at our stores in Philadelphia (413 N 4th St.) and Lansdowne (62 W. Marshall Rd.). Preferred clothing donation times are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 11-5pm.
