The Science History Institute is Hosting a Free First Friday Event “School Lunch Unboxed” With Games, Snacks, and More
Okay, cool date night idea. If you’re not aware, the Science History Institute (315 Chestnut St.) recently launched their newest exhibit Lunchtime: The History of Science on the School Food Tray, which dives into the rich history of school lunch. In celebration of this new exhibit, the Science History Institute is hosting a special First Friday: School Lunch Unboxed on September 4th from 5 pm -7 pm
Guests will get to explore the institute after hours and learn interact with exhibits, try their hand at making the best sandwich in our school lunch-themed card games while enjoying some snacks you may have wished you had on your lunch tray. Their library will also be showcasing some of our rare books paired with a fun craft using images from our digital collections!
The Science History Institute’s First Fridays are always free to attend and offer various themes, access to the institute after hours, as well as a myriad of activities covering everyday science, historical oddities, and everything in between. Grab your friends, and kick off an evening of discovery, surprise, and a little nerdy fun. Attendees will receive a 10% discount to National Mechanics restaurant.
