The Science After Hours: Spectacular Spectacular is Back With Circus Arts & Live Shows to Kick-Off the New Season
Science After Hours: Spectacular Spectacular is returning to The Franklin Institute on Friday, March 31st to kick off the 2023 season of the popular adults-only event series with an evening of show stopping big top performances and surprise entertainment. Attendees are invited to dress in their fanciest flair and step right up for the spectacular spectacle. Guests will enjoy shows and access to all of the institute’s wide-range of exhibits.
To curate the spectacular evening, the Franklin Institute tapped local Philadelphia drumline group Positive Movement to set the beat for the night, the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts for gravity- defying performances, Iris Spectre & Bear Trap to deliver a one-stop cabaret in the Fels Planetarium, plus Johnny Showcase of the power funk group Johnny Showcase & The Mystic Ticket, with special guests Rumi Kitchen and Rose Luardo—to host a prize-filled Bingo combining performance art and soul revival.

- Local showman and bandleader of the power funk group Johnny Showcase & The Mystic Ticket, Johnny Showcase, along with Rumi Kitchen & Rose Luardo, lead a prize-filled Bingo.
- The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts invites guests to experiment at multiple interactive stations and witness gravity-defying pro performances.
- Hosted by Iris Spectre & Bear Trap, the Fels Planetarium is a one-stop cabaret for performance, dance, and delights.

Science After Hours offers even more live performances in an immersive nightlife scene, with reimagined pop-up programming and cocktails via cash bar as adults explore the museum, including rooftop stargazing. Science After Hours takes place quarterly in March, June, October, and December, from 7:30 pm – 11:30 pm. Tickets are $40 in advance; $45 at the door. Member tickets are $35.
