The Rescheduled Mayfair NPDC Moon Festival Will Take Place This Sunday With Food, Entertainment, & Mooncake Giveaway
After weather forced a postponement of its original September 27 date, the Mayfair NPDC Moon Festival will now light up Frankford Avenue on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Hosted by the Northeast Philadelphia Development Corporation (NPDC) and Philadelphia250, the neighborhood street festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. along the 7000–7300 blocks of Frankford Avenue at Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
The free community celebration brings Asian culture and tradition to the heart of Mayfair, timed alongside the city’s lead-up to Philadelphia’s upcoming 250th anniversary. Neighbors and visitors alike are invited to spend the afternoon taking in performances, sampling food and enjoying activities for the whole family.
Guests can look forward to traditional mooncake giveaways, a nod to the seasonal holiday at the heart of the celebration. The festival will also feature live cultural music and dance performances throughout the afternoon, including energetic Kung Fu demonstrations and Ukrainian choreographic art, bringing a mix of traditions to the stage. For younger festivalgoers, carnival-style games and kids’ activities will keep the fun going, while local food trucks, craft vendors and community resource tables line the avenue for attendees to browse.
