The Philadelphia Flower Show Is Rescheduling to Next Summer and Will Be Held Outdoors!
This past Thursday the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society sent a notice to its members that drastic changes were coming to the annual flower show. The Philadelphia Flower Show which has traditionally been held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center every March will be moved to summer 2021 and will be held at a new outdoor venue.
For now that’s about all the details that were given. PHS did not give the exact new dates nor the venue. However, the COVID-19 pandemic was cited as a reason for the change as organizers decided on providing a safer experience for its guests.
The self-title “biggest flower show in the world” drew 250,000 visitors to its last show. Now with social distancing being a priority PHS is spending its time narrowing down the perfect place to accommodate such a large crowd. “Philadelphia is our home and offers a number of locations where the Show will benefit from ‘borrowed scenery,’ space for safe distancing, and access to mass transit, parking, and major highways,”PHS stated in its email.
The original March date would’ve come on the cusp of the end of the city’s deadline to allow large gatherings. Not looking to take any chances of that deadline being extended, PHS will playing it safe with a summer date.
Stay tune for more details.
