The Philadelphia Film Center is Hosting Clueless, Mean Girls & Booksmart Screenings and Quizzo Tournament
The Philadelphia Film Society (PFS) is hosting Get In Loser, We’re Going Back To High School Quizzo Tournament this September at the Philadelphia Film Center (1412 Chestnut Street). It has been prophesied that every decade one film must come along that hilariously captures the plight of adolescent high school girls and invades our world with endlessly quotable lines, fetch fashion, and a gay best friend. These are those films: CLUELESS (September 8), MEAN GIRLS (September 15), BOOKSMART (September 22).
Squads assemble and join PFS for three consecutive weeks as they celebrate these high school classics from the past 30 years. Teams can attend the films individually or attend all three, with the winning team being announced at the end of the tournament. Awards will be given for each individual film’s quizzo, courtesy of Quirk Books, the official prize sponsor of the Throwback Quizzo & Movie series. A grand prize will be awarded to the tournament champions that includes a night out at Mission Taqueria.
Tickets to individual screenings are currently available to purchase on Filmadelphia.org. There is a bundle ticketing option available for those interested in attending all films in the series, We’re Going Back To High School! Quizzo Tournament bundle is $27 ($23 for PFS Members).
