The Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl Returns with Nearly 50 Shops, Author Meet-and-Greets, Parties, and Plenty of Sales
Philadelphia’s literary scene is gearing up for one of its most anticipated annual events—the return of the Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl. Now in its third year, the celebration brings together close to 50 independent bookstores from across the region for a day of exploration, discovery, and community on Saturday, August 23.
Think of it as a citywide First Friday—but with books and on a Saturday. Rather than following a set route, participants are encouraged to chart their own path, stopping into as many shops as they like. Some stores will feature guest authors, others are planning exclusive sales, and many will offer the chance to meet local literary voices—ranging from debut writers to New York Times and USA Today bestsellers.
This year’s crawl includes an exciting mix of long-time staples and newer names. A few highlights from the participating bookstores include:
-
A Novel Idea
-
Harriett’s Bookshop
-
