The Oval is Hosting “Hip Hop in the Park” Featuring DJs. MC’s, Graffiti Artists, Breaking and More
This year Hip Hop turned 50 years old. In celebration of this milestone, there have been numerous celebrations and events. However, The Oval (2451 Benjamin Franklin Pkw.) is hosting a celebration of its own.
On Saturday August 12th from 12 pm – 9 pm, Hip Hop in the Park will take place. Hip Hop heads will get to spectate and enjoy the four core elements of hip hop which include breaking, graffiti, MCing, and DJing.
Guests can expect an open cypher floor courtesy of Red Bull BC One, live art by graffiti artists from the tristate, a multitude of DJ’s spinning from Philly, NY, Jersey and Baltimore as well as MC’s such and local acts such as Reef the Lost Cauze, the legendary TUFF CREW, Schooly D, Peedi Crakk, Dell-P, Rebel Foster, Nico Oso and more.
This event is family friendly and includes activities for little ones as well. “So this event came from the void of true Hip Hop curated events that were completely family and community friendly. As a Hip Hop Ambassador I felt the responsibility to curate an event that showcased all the elements in a community building type of way,” states organizer TAMEARTZ who along with Black Soul Summer are curating this event.
