The Franklin Institute is Hosting a Special Pride Science After Hours!
In celebration of Pride month The Franklin Institute will be hosting a special Pride Science After hours. Enjoy an evening dedicated to celebrating the rich diversity among the science and arts community.
As you may know every month The Franklin Institute hosts a Science After Hours, which is an evening adult only event that mixes science with cocktails and each month guests can enjoy a different theme.
For Pride Science After Hours guests will be able to enjoy various activities That include:
-Delve into how scientific our ideas about sex and gender are with local sexologist, writer, podcaster, adjunct professor, consultant and activist Timaree Schmit, PhD.
–Science can be a Drag: three local drag performers paired with three Franklin Institute science interpreters for some colorful and over-the-top science demonstrations throughout the evening!
-Vogue! alongside two of Philly’s Ballroom Legends from the POSSE Project, Lamish Voltaire and Legendary Bubby Revlon. Interactive activities including: how rainbows are made, understanding prisms and spectrometers, color mixing demos, and creating a rainbow-colored mixtures that erupts from test tubes.
-Design individualized DNA bracelets and personal Pride flags.
–DJ Robert Drake transports the dance floor with a mix of classics from the 80s & 90s.
–Grand Finale: PRIDE edition of our Ball Pit Ball Explosion!
As with every Science After Hours, this event is for Adults 21+. Tickets are $25 for non-members and $20 for members. You can purchase your tickets here.
