The Fillmore Will be Hosting the “Opulence” Pride Party Featuring DJs, Go Go Dancers, and Plenty of Glam
On Saturday, June 1st, The Fillmore will transform into a glittering spectacle for the Opulence party hosted by BOS Philly, where guests can expect diamonds, glitter, and dazzling outfits. BOS Philly has been hosting vibrant events for over 20 years, and for the past five years, Pride parties have been a key highlight. This year BOS will be throwing their biggest party yet to kick off Pride Month.
“Our guests love to participate in the theme, so we encourage everyone attending for the first time to feel comfortable dressing up (or down We will have a coat check available all night long). In addition to DJs, we will have dancers and a special performance. The main room will feature a DJ and dancers, while AJAX Hall offers a chill vibe to meet new friends or take a quick break before returning to the dance floor. This is also the first time we’re hosting a party until 4 am, which we hope will be a big selling point for partygoers that weekend,” stated organizer Alex Ortiz.
So how did this come about? BOS Philly’s first party started as a birthday celebration and quickly gained popularity beyond their friend group. “Since then, we’ve grown into a powerhouse with an amazing board of members organizing events all year long, including our annual Pride party. In the past, we’ve hosted events at Concourse, WoW, and The Ave, among other venues,” Alex adds.
Opulence will feature local DJs Riva + Bianca in the front hall, DJ Brett Oosterhaus setting the stage for DJ Alex Acosta, and Envy Peru, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Holland, who will perform and hold a meet-and-greet for fans. Circuit Mom from Chicago will host and perform with go-go dancers, alongside local favorites Iris Spectre and Chase St.Cartier.
For those eager to show off their glam fits, there will also be photo activations, vendors, information booths, and much more to keep everyone entertained and engaged, not just on the dance floor.
But BOS Philly doesn’t just throw parties for fun – they use these events to give back to the local community. Since 2017, they have raised over $80,000, donating most of their proceeds to local LGBT charities. This year, their primary beneficiary is the William Way LGBT Community Center. By attending BOS Philly events, you can enjoy a great time while making a positive impact on the community.
“This event is the culmination of 20 years spent creating an essential space for circuit events in Philadelphia. We look forward to kicking off Pride with all our friends as well as meeting some new ones,” Alex added.
