The Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy Returns This Halloween Season With Spooky Live Performances & Specialty Cocktails
The Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy, a chilling blend of cocktails and storytelling, is making its way back to Philadelphia for one exclusive weekend this fall. Following a sold-out debut in 2023, the immersive experience returns with Chapter 2 from October 9–11, 2025, at The Fallser Club in East Falls.
This year’s engagement features four of Poe’s most haunting tales, each reimagined by Poe historians and paired with an original cocktail creation by the event’s macabre mixologist:
-
“The Pit and the Pendulum” → Swing of Fate, a prosecco-topped cocktail with shifting flavors
-
“The Cask of Amontillado” → Montresor’s Revenge, layered with amontillado and orange
-
“Annabel Lee” → Lover’s Lament, a bourbon, hibiscus, and lemonade blend
-
“The Fall of the House of Usher” → Roderick’s Ruin, a brooding mix of cold brew, pomegranate, and vanilla vodka
Each story comes alive through live performance, immersive staging, and a cocktail that captures its mood. Tickets are $55 and include admission, the interactive show, and all four drinks, with alcohol-free options available by request.
Poe’s return to Philly feels especially fitting. Between 1838 and 1844, he lived in the city, writing some of his most iconic works including The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, and The Fall of the House of Usher. Many call Philadelphia the crucible of Poe’s imagination, and his influence is still seen today in the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site and the well-known Poe Mural at 7th and Spring Garden.
“Over a century and a half after Edgar Allan Poe’s death, this cocktail experience brings the most beloved works of Poe to life off the page and onto the stage,” said Show Creator Julia Tirinnanzi. “It was important for us to bring this new chapter to Philadelphia, where Poe found so much inspiration.”
With limited tickets available and a reputation for selling out quickly, Poe fans and cocktail lovers alike are encouraged to reserve early for this one-weekend-only haunted experience at edgarallanpoebar.com.
