The Dilworth Park Ice Skating Rink is Opening for Their Second Season
Last year Center City’s newest public space, Dilworth Park unveiled their 120 ft. long and 60 ft Rothman Institute Ice Rink. The city’s objective was to lure more people to Center City who would otherwise patronize other parts of Philadelphia. Well the city’s plan worked as close to 50,000 skaters took part in the inaugural season.
If you were of of the scores of skaters that visited the rink last year or if you want to check it out this season, The Rothman Institute Ice Rink is scheduled to kick-off year two on November 13th and will remain open to all skaters through February 28th.
As for the cost, admission is $3 for children ages 10 and under and $5 for adults. Skate rental is $9. Group rates are available for other parties of 10 or more. For reservations, please you are encouraged to email [email protected].
“We are looking forward to another fun-filled season of Rothman Institute Ice Rink at Dilworth Park,” said Dr. Alexander R. Vaccaro, President of Rothman Institute. “Last year was a tremendous success and this year we’ve added some amenities that are sure to enhance the experience for all. It’s our sincere hope that the people of the city and region enjoy the rink to the fullest.”
Since last year’s season was such smash hit, Rothman Institute Ice Rink decided to expand it’s hours and open at 12 noon Monday through Thursday and offer open skating until 9:00 p.m. Hours on Friday will be 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
