The 3 Day Anime Festival “Philly Otaku Fest” is Back Featuring 75+ Vendors, Gaming Tournaments, Cosplay Competition & More

Okay anime fans, this one is for you. The popular Philly Otaku Fest is back at Cherry Street Pier for three-days filled with vendors, food, gaming tournaments, fashion show, panels, and cosplay competition.

Taking place April 11-th-13th, guests are encouraged to cosplay and enjoy plenty of entertainment and anime themed-fun “We will have over 75 vendors including artists, artisans, and collectibles. An “arcade” with free play and free tournaments (Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Street Fighter 6, and Tekken 8). The Beyblade Jawn is back to test your skills. We will have panels on varying otaku subjects (anime, gaming, etc). There will be anime-themed specialty drinks, We will have food trucks including Japanese street food. We are also excited to bring back “That 360º Photo Jawn” with a new theme. As well as having a studio photographer onsite for anyone wanting to get pro photos. There will also be Itasha (anime cars) on display. In addition, we are having a J-Fashion Show and a J-Fashion Mixer. Also, if we get enough applicants a Cosplay Craftsmanship Competition. Oh, and we will have a band on Saturday night,” states founder Becky Becky de Maul.

So what exactly is otaku for those unfamiliar? Well, Becky describes “Otaku is a Japanese word to describe people who love anime, gaming, comics, etc,. It’s a word that people in the community use as pride for loving the things they love.  So you can expect to be immersed in cosplay and plenty of gaming going on.This community is unique and beautiful. It’s diverse in every way and welcoming We created Philly Otaku Fest to celebrate that community and the fandoms we all share, to have fun, enjoy each other, and have a great shared experience.”

Hours of operation will be:

Friday 4/11: 4:00pm-9:30pm
Saturday 4/12: 11:00am-9:30pm
Sunday 4/13: 11:00am- 6:30pm
