The 3 Day Anime Festival “Philly Otaku Con” is Back Featuring 60+ Vendors, Games, Tournaments, and More
It’s back. The free to attend Philly Otaku Con is taking place April 12th-14th, and will feature over 60 vendors, plenty of games and tournaments, trivia, a Cosplay Parade, and more.
“Otaku is a Japanese word to describe people who love anime, gaming, comics, etc,. It’s a word that people in the community use as pride for loving the things they love. So you can expect to be immersed in cosplay and plenty of gaming going on.This community is unique and beautiful. It’s diverse in every way and welcoming We created Philly Otaku Fest to celebrate that community and the fandoms we all share, to have fun, enjoy each other, and have a great shared experience,” stated co-founder Becky de Maul.
New for 2024 guests will be able to enjoy many more panels, a Zelda experience, as well as That 360 Lazer Jawn (photo booth). There will also be a professional photo set up for those wanting pro photos in their cosplay. “We will have the 2nd Beyblade Jawn, and we are having a Dragon Ball Z cosplay/fandom meetup to celebrate Akira Toriyama. Also anime and music all day/eve running on the jumbotron, specialty cocktails w/Japanese spirits, as well as food trucks,” Becky adds.
