Taylor Swift Fans and Emo Music Lovers are Joining Forces at the TLA for “The Swemo Experience”
There’s no denying the sheer numbers of the Swifties. It seems that every major pop star coins a term for their fans and Taylor Swift’s fans are definitely among the largest. Now it looks like a new trend has started, where Swifties and Emo lovers have joined forces to create The Swemo Experience. In fact other publications such as Alternative Press have already done features on this trending party stating “Self-described “Swemos” sit at the crossroads between loving Swift and emo music, singing along to moody tracks like “Better Than Revenge” with an equally moody, dark attire. While it may sound like a concept straight out of Tumblr, the Swemo army is a force to be reckoned with.”
“The Swemo Experience was started this past summer after the term Swemo, combining swiftie + emo, was created by @Cuddlybaer11 and immediately took off online. That’s when they decided to make Swemo its own party,” states promoter Sean Salm of Sad & Boujee
The TLA is tapping into to this experience by hosting its own Swemo night on Friday April 28th. Hosted by @Cuddlybaer11, “Partygoers will be too busy dancing to get knocked off their feet while experiencing what happens when you bring a Taylor Night and an Emo Night into one epic party. Attendees should expect to hear many emo/pop punk classics with a healthy mix of Taylor Swift’s discography, and of course pop goes punk covers of Taylor songs. The night of The Swemo Experience is 2 weeks away from the start of the Philadelphia dates for The Era’s Tour, so this is a fun early way for Philly swemos to celebrate Taylor’s return to her home state,” Sean adds.
The Swemo Experience kicks-off at 9 pm and has a cover $15 which can be purchased on the TLA website.
