Tabachoy Philly Now Has a BYOB Community Fridge Just In Case You Forget Your “B”
You’ve heard of community fridges becoming a big thing in Philly for those in need of foods and goods. However, Philly’s newest Filipino restaurant is putting its own spin on the community fridge concept. Tabachoy Philly (932 S 10th St.), opened this month and just installed its own community fridge to service those that forget the “B” in BYOB.
“I came up with the idea because when I go to a BYOB, I often forget to bring beverages and have to forgo drinking or run to the nearest store, and ultimately waste time,” stated Tabachoy owner Chance Anies. “I wanted to build a community fridge where people can grab from just in case they forgot their drinks. It also gives people an opportunity to give to leave drinks for other patrons,” Chance adds.
The fridge itself is new to the restaurant and is completely consumer ran. The restaurant’s IG post announced the community BYOB fridge stating “We’re trying to build a piece of community within our little restaurant! If you haven’t dined in with us yet, I want to introduce you to our community beverage fridge. We’ve been to far too many BYOBs and forgot our B, so we decided to try to fix that problem. It’s completely complimentary, and has been supplied fully by our beverage friends, new neighbors, and wonderful guests. We see it as a give a penny, leave a penny style fridge- but if you don’t have any bevs to leave, we’re happy you’re enjoying its perks 🙂 Come fill her up or empty her this week! We’re here Wednesday to Saturday, 5-9.”
Tabachoy Philly seats up to 28 guests and is open 5pm to 9pm Wednesday to Sunday.
