Street Curling is Coming to Franklin Square Park This Month
We’ve all seen it on the Winter Olympics and now you’ll have a chance to try your hand at Curling. Franklin Square Street Curling comes to Winter in Franklin Square presented by Citizens. The new Curling installation is the newest attraction to the square which also hosts the Electrical Spectacle Light Show presented by PECO.
Franklin Square Street Curling will make its official debut on Wednesday December 21st with an opening presentation that will be hosted by Councilperson Mark Squilla (who will be dressed as Santa).
Those not familiar with Curling, the Olympic team sport which consists of players sliding stones of granite towards a target on a sheet of ice has been adapted into a format called Street Curling and will be available in Franklin Square during the winter festivities from December 21st until February 26th.
Now visitors can enjoy a light show, have brews at the Franklin Square Beer Garden, play a round of Chili Mini Golf and try their hand at Street Curling.
