Starting Today New Jersey Will Impose New Restrictions For Gatherings!
Looks like things will tighten up a little be more in Jersey. Today New Jersey imposed new gathering restrictions that will carry out until next month. The new mandate will drastically drop the state’s previous outdoor gathering limit from 150 down to 25 attendees.
Gatherings for religious and political activities as well as funerals will be exempt. Youth and adult sporting events will be limited to 25 spectators which does not include, players coaches and personnel. As for indoor activities, practices and games, those will be postponed until January 2nd. However, New Jersey will allow professional and collegiate indoor games and gym classes may continue.
Governor Phil Murphy weighed in on the new restrictions stating, “As folks probably know, I’m a huge sports fan and all of our kids play sports. I hope and intend to see the winter sports season in January. I want to see, especially that high school senior, get to play her or his last season and I value the importance of sports for the physical and mental well-being of our children. But we are seeing outbreaks related to indoor sports and this is a prudent short-term step to slow the spread.”
