If you’re going to raise money might as well make it fun and exciting. Smith Playground (3500 Reservoir Drive) just announced their first ever Slide-A-Thon.  Known for its iconic giant wooden slide, Smith Playground will have teams compete against each other to see who can slide down the most times.  The Slide-A-Thon will take place August 29th from 9 am to 9 pm.

Teams can range from 5 to 20 persons per team or folks can sign up individually to create a team. The event will raise funds to help support Smith which welcomes nearly 200,000 visitors annually from families in every zip code in the City, and provides educational and advocacy programs that use the power of play to help children, families, and communities thrive. All participants will receive a complimentary sliding sack to bring home, courtesy of La Colombe Coffee.

Smith Playground which has been around since 1899 has been  “a free, safe space for children of all different backgrounds to come together to play and grow into strong, confident individuals despite personal circumstances or societal challenges,” their website states.  Registration fees range from $25-$500 depending on the size of the team.
