Smith Memorial Playground’s “Play-A-Palooza” is Back to Kick-Off Spring With Live Entertainment, Food & More
Smith Memorial Playground (3500 Reservoir Dr.) is ready to get spring play underway with their annual Play-A-Palooza event. This year’s celebration is Saturday, March 25, from 12-4 pm, across Smith’s sprawling 6.5-acre property in East Fairmount Park. Following Play-A-Palooza, Smith’s playground hours will extend to 6 pm on weekdays and 7 pm on weekends as we welcome longer days. Besides full use of our equipment, Play-A-Palooza will have activity stations, music and dance, games, crafts, and giveaways. Dos Hermanos and Pink’s Cold Treats will be on-hand for food options as well.
Live Entertainment Includes:
Scchool of Rock, both their Philadelphia and Princeton House Bands- Will perform 40-minute sets featuring contemporary music
Philadelphia School of Circus Arts’s Youth Troupe -Will perform acrobatic, juggling, contortion, and balance skills
Let’s Go Outdoors -Will offer one of their signature, family-friendly, nature-themed activities that promote environmental awareness
The insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion -Will bring an assortment of creepy, crawly, captivating insects for children to see, touch, and learn about.
The Bubble Lady Javenna -Will presen her POPular indoor bubble show
Asil Greer- a 9-year-old, award-winning author, speaker, orator, educator, and writer, will read from his latest book.
” It’s Springtime, which means it is time for Play-A-Palooza, Smith’s celebration of the start of our peak season, which brings longer hours, more activities, and more fun for children and families.
