Festival season is kicking-off and it looks like The Roxborough Development Corporation wants to make sure you mark your calendars for their Spring Fest taking place May 20th from noon to 6 pm. Formally known as Art is Life, The Roxborough Spring Fest will feature over 80 local craft and arts vendors and will take place on Ridge Avenue between Lyceum Avenue and Leverington Avenue.
Attendees will get to enjoy live art paintings as well as peruse and purchase original artwork and hand crafted items. New activations for this year’s event include an axe-throwing booth and a pet photo station. In addition, New Ridge Brewing Co., Chaddsford Winery and Stateside Vodka will have stations set up to provide cocktails and beers for adult festival goers.
For added entertainment the Roxborough Spring Fest will feature live performances from:
• The Mitchell Street Phillbillies, a band of four Roxborough natives, who named their band after the street they live on in Roxborough
• The Providers, featuring Roxborough Memorial Hospital’s health care providers
• Old Academy Players & Venice Island Performing Arts Center, showcasing singers from their theatre groups
