REC Philly is Offering Complimentary 3 Month Memberships to University of the Arts Grads, Faculty, and Staff

When it was announced that the University of the Arts were closing their doors for good, the city was left in shock. Philadelphia is known for the artistic and creative talents it produces and is even home to the largest mural arts program in the world and boasts the most murals of any city. It’s safe to say that we are surrounded by art everywhere we go. However, many of these artists, designers, and creatives have been left with no place to call home.

However, the the members-only club for creators, REC Philly is opening its doors to displaced UArts students, 2024 grads, as well as ex-faculty members and staff who were employed as of June 7th, 2024. If you fit this criteria then you qualify for a FREE 3-month membership to REC.

“The news of UArts closing affects not only UArts students and staff but also many members of the creative community at large. I know many folks whose primary access to a studio was through a friend [who is a student] at UArts, and now many of them are out of luck without resources as well. So, for us at REC, it’s always been about equipping creatives with resources to keep doing what they love. So getting a chance to support folks, in a time of need is a no-brainer,” stated REC C0-Founder Will Toms.

REC will welcome all those impacted by the UArts closure to use them as a resource and a bridge during this difficult time. If you meet this criteria and are interested in taking advantage of this offer, visit joinrec.com/uarts and complete the form.
