Reading Terminal is Extending Their Sunday Hours & Celebrating With Customer Giveaways!
Reading Terminal Market will extend its Sunday hours to be 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. as of April 18. This will allow for consistent hours of operation seven days a week. The Market had previously extended its Sunday hours in 2017 but scaled back in the beginning of the pandemic.
To celebrate and promote these new extended hours, the Market will be hosting a giveaway for customers this Sunday, April 18. Shoppers who spend $75 or more at Reading Terminal Market merchants on Sunday can redeem their receipts for a free Reading Terminal branded insulated tote. The bag giveaway will take place at the space formerly occupied by Tootsie’s Hot & Cold Buffet from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. while supplies last. Terms and conditions apply.
“We look forward to welcoming back our Sunday afternoon shoppers. The Market has been cautiously optimistic as the city and state have begun to ease restrictions and we’ve seen an uptick in foot traffic so feel good about the decision to keep our doors open longer on what is traditionally a popular day for customers,” said Annie Allman, Reading Terminal Market CEO and General Manager. “As visitors become more comfortable traveling to Philadelphia we hope they will choose to safely visit the Market. Extending our hours now allows for an adjustment period before what we hope will be a resurgence of tourism later this year.”
The entire food and beverage industry has been hit hard by the pandemic and Reading Terminal Market merchants are still feeling the impact as they work to staff up for summer. In order to operate sustainably, individual merchants may choose not to operate full Sunday hours. A complete list of merchants that will be open Sundays is available here.
Masks continue to be required inside Reading Terminal Market. Limited indoor dining and outdoor dining is available. Indoor dining may only take place in the designated seating areas. Customers may not eat or drink as they shop.
