Philly’s Largest Outdoor Restaurant, Liberty Point Reopens This Week With a Revamped Food & Drink Menu

The Delaware River Waterfront is a big destination point during the summer months. Whether it’s a date night, family outing or folks just looking to unwind by the water, the area sees a steady stream of visitors.  Looking to provide unique views and ambience, Liberty Point (211 S. Columbus Blvd.) reopens Thursday April 13th with a revamped food and drink menu.

Liberty Point made history as the city’s largest outdoor restaurant with a whopping 25,000 total sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space and a seating capacity of up to 1,400 guests. The unique outdoor-indoor concept features three levels, five bars, food, drink, live entertainment, and  landscaping for great summer vibes.

For its second season, Liberty Point offers a completely revamped dining menu of seasonally inspired bites with a special emphasis on seafood. Guests can expect a Mexican-Philadelphia style menu, with a special seafood flare and a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options. New dishes include Lobster Quesadilla (monterey jack cheese, fresh corn, poblanos, onions, sour cream), vegan Poblano and Potato Tacos (avocado salsa verde, pickled onion), Chorizo “Chopped Cheese” (shaved lettuce, cilantro, chipotle mayo, queso chihuahua, long roll), and the Crab-Dip Empanadas (crab, poblano, potato, cream cheese).

“There’s always something happening at Penn’s Landing. It is the top Summer destination in Philadelphia that hosts concerts, fairs, food and drink,” owner Avram Hornik says, “and we are happy to be a part of it.” Liberty Point is inspired by Philadelphia’s rich maritime history. Liberty is what sailors are granted when their ship docked at port and they were allowed to go ashore and experience the town. What’s the point of liberty unless we remember to experience it

For entertainment, expect weekly live music Friday, Saturday and Sundays with DJs throughout the week. Philly’s own DJ XTina will kick things off for this year’s launch while Mr. Hollywood DJ follows suit for Friday. The Heartbeats, a local group composed of dynamic male and female lead vocalists and a full rhythm and horn section, open the live music season on Friday, May 5th at 7 PM. Daily operating hours will be Noon – 2 AM starting Friday, April 14th.
