DESCRIPTION:Music and raffle prizes at Love City’s Taproom & Gardens! Proceeds will benefit the local AmeriCorps community. \nJoin us for an afternoon of music\, community\, and raffle prizes GALORE! \nLove City Gardens will be open from 3-5 PM to host live music from local talents The Gnome Kelly\, wescansin and Fox Teeth. Suggested donation upon entry to the garden is $15. \nRaffle prizes from so many local businesses will be on display in our taproom! Prizewinners called out between 5-6 PM. \n$1 from every Unity IPA and 7th Inning Stretch cocktail sold during the event will be added to the day’s donation. \nBudget cuts have negatively affected really wonderful programs in our community. Since we can’t undo recent political decisions\, we wanted to find a way to give some love to our local service-minded educators! Information about other ways to show support will be available during the event. \nPrograms in the Philadelphia AmeriCorps network that will benefit from this event include ArtistYear PA\, City Year\, Digital Service Fellows/Urban Technology Project\, Foster Grandparents\, Joyful Readers\, Community Health Fellowship\, Promise Corps\, and PHENND AmeriCorps Vista Fellows.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a social experiment / collective action / community building event! A night of no phones. No digital photos. No social media. No FOMO. Just face to face fun with your crew and the chance to engage with someone new. \nWe’ll have plenty of interactive activities\, including \nMeditation and breathwork with Monarch Yoga\nSolar Zoetrope workshop with Iffy Books\nConversation starters with Touchy / Feely Card Game\nBut how will this work? \nPHONE CHECK (like coat check)! When you arrive\, you’ll silence your phone and put it in a numbered pouch. You’ll get a corresponding ticket. You can leave your phone in a secure area that will be monitored constantly by our staff. Or if you don’t feel comfortable with that\, you can keep the locked-up phone with you. \nSTAY PRESENT AND ENJOY. Engage with whatever you’d like to\, or just hang in a corner with your friends. In addition to the partner activities listed above\, we’ll have art supplies\, playing cards\, and other things to keep you occupied. \nCHECK OUT. When you leave\, give us your phone-check ticket and we’ll return your phone to you. \nEMERGENCIES? We recommend telling your important people that you’ll be out of reach for a few hours. You can give them the Love City phone number in case something really urgent comes up: 215-398-1900. If you need to use your phone for any reason\, please leave the Gardens before doing so. \n**This event is FREE to attend!
