Night Market Will Turn to Day for the DNC

Since its inception Night Market has been, well at night.  The nocturnal summertime food festival that has become the Mecca for foodies in the region.  Each month dozens upon dozens of the top food trucks descend at predetermined spots throughout Philly.  The whole nighttime aspect gives it that perfect summer time ambience.  The kind of feeling that Will Smith’s “Summertime” gives when it’s played at a BBQ.  So when we heard it was moving to daytime we kind of feel it will loose a little luster.

Luckily it will only be for one day.   During the Democratic National Convention’s opening day, The Philly Food Trust will organize a Day Market.  If you’re not a political junky and have no clue when the DNC is even taking place, no worries we got you. It all goes down Monday July, 25th from 11 am to 3 pm at 3rd & Arch.  If you’re over the age of 25 then you may know this site better as The Real World House.

Although no official truck line-up has been announced, organizers are promising lots of options, vendors as well as live entertainment. The obvious downside to all of this is that it sucks for those working a 9 to 5 outside of Old City.  These hours are prime time Maury Povich and Price is Right.  For those that can make it out, enjoy because this may be the first and last Day Market we see.
