New Brewery, Future Days Beer Company is Opening in Northern Liberties This Week
Northern Liberties is about to add a new brewery to the neighborhood. On Thursday December 12, Future Days Beer Company will open its doors at 433 Fairmount Avenue. Operating out of a converted carriage house, owners and brewers Nick Mata and Sean McGuire will feature small-batch beers, constantly rotating draft list with an emphasis on seasonal experiments, hoppy ales, and dry, effervescent lagers.
The new venture is the result of a decade-long vision cultivated by Nick Mata and Sean McGuire. The two brewers and former college roommates have dreamed of opening a brewery since Junior year.
For the last decade Nick and Sean have been brewing together and have won a number of awards along the way, including a Best in Show for their Smoked Helles Lager and a Gold Medal for their flagship stout, Moonlight Mile. With this recognition and a growing following, they started hosting local tastings. Their biggest hit was a beer named Future Days, a kölsch that was so well received it gave them the confidence to go out on their own and brew full-time.
“The overarching mission at Future Days is to produce the highest-quality beer possible. This unwavering commitment to quality means the team will never stop tinkering, reimagining, and innovating,” the owners state.
