National Treasure Weekend Is Coming to Philly With Movie Screenings, Escape-Room-Style Games, and a Treasure Hunt

National Treasure Hunt, in partnership with Independence Historical Trust and the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation, will present National Treasure Weekend, a three-day celebration taking place August 20–22, 2026, in Philadelphia. Organizers describe it as the first event of its kind, offering fans of the National Treasure franchise the opportunity to hear from director and producer Jon Turteltaub in person.

With the exception of the film screenings, all events have limited capacity, and tickets are required.

Schedule of Events

HEIST NIGHT at Carpenter’s Hall

Participants team up to solve written and escape room-style puzzles in a character-driven quest inspired by the National Treasure franchise, testing skills in history, science, logic and trivia. The program is presented by Independence National Historical Trust and will run twice during the weekend.

Both sessions require tickets.

National Treasure Hunt LIVE Featuring Jon Turteltaub

A live recording of the National Treasure Hunt podcast will feature a conversation with Jon Turteltaub, joined by co-hosts Aubrey Paris and Emily Black. The discussion will cover the film’s cultural impact and behind-the-scenes stories from filming in Philadelphia, with an opportunity for audience questions.

National Treasure Screening

A nighttime screening of the 2004 film National Treasure will take place on Independence Mall, presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Visitor Center, Independence National Historical Trust and Independence National Historical Park. The screening will include an introduction from Turteltaub.

National Treasure Hunt Tour: Philadelphia

As part of National Treasure Weekend, National Treasure Hunt hosted a special summer installment of its biannual walking tour through Center City and Old City, visiting filming locations and sites of plot significance to the film, including Independence Hall, Reading Terminal Market and Old Pine Churchyard.

  • Location: Tour began in front of the Franklin Institute

This tour is now full, with registration closed. Those interested can join the next installment of the tour, scheduled for September 19 in Philadelphia.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets Screening

The weekend will close with a nighttime screening of National Treasure: Book of Secrets on Independence Mall, also introduced by Turteltaub.
