Morris Animal Refuge Hosts a Month Long Virtual Fur Ball Campaign!
Morris Animal Refuge is pleased to announce their first ever virtual Fur Ball Campaign. This event will raise funds to support their lifesaving mission started by Philadelphian Elizabeth Morris 147 years ago. The campaign titled, Morris’ Garden, will run from April 1st to April 30th.
In a typical year, Morris would have already hosted their largest event of the year, the annual Fur Ball gala. The Fur Ball brings together Morris’ community for a celebration of their life saving mission and raises crucial funds for the organization. They aren’t able to gather in person this year, but that will not stop them from celebrating another year of lifesaving! Spring is a time of growth and new beginnings. Just like a garden, the animals at Morris need to be nourished and cared for them to bloom and grow. Plant the seeds of change by joining The Morris Animal Refuge in this springtime celebration of their life saving work and the community that makes their work possible.
The month of April will be packed with exciting ways to get involved. Their virtual auction will feature tons of great items including the opportunity to have your pet featured in Morris’ Mural Expansion – yes you could have your pet immortalized ON Morris Animal Refuge! There will be four Fur Ball Friday Virtual Events. These virtual events will include a fitness party class, a animals themed paint night, a cocktail making class presented by Angel’s Envy Bourbon, and a trivia night hosted by Steve Morrison of WMMR’s Preston and Steve Show. You can bring your virtual Fur Ball Experience home by ordering a Party Package of delectable treats from 12th Street Catering to be delivered to homes on April 30th.
The campaign will feature a group of Fur Ball Ambassadors that will help the refuge bring awareness to their mission and raise funds to contribute to the refuge’s continued growth. Thanks to Arm & Hammer, the campaign’s premier sponsor, the funds raised by the Ambassadors throughout the month
will be matched up to $7,500! Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards helping the homeless, abandoned and unwanted pets of the Greater Philadelphia region and will help support Morris Animal Refuge with vital programs including the Lifesaver Fund, the Fostering Program, the Adoption Program, the Community Cats Program, and most importantly their quest to expand their medical capacity with their first full time shelter veterinarian.
“At Morris Animal Refuge we are always striving to grow and improve which makes the addition of a full time vet to our staff very exciting for everyone at the organization,” said Lewis Checchia, Executive Director of Morris Animal Refuge. “Fundraisers like the virtual Fur Ball Campaign make these improvements possible and allow us to save the lives of animals in need while engaging with our community.” Morris Animal Refuge’s virtual Fur Ball campaign will start on April 1 st with events and activities running until April 30th.
