Morris Animal Refuge Hosts 21st Annual Fur Ball
The Morris Animal Refuge, America’s First Animal Shelter, is pleased to announce that the 21 st Annual Fur Ball will be held on Saturday, March 10 th , from 7pm – midnight. The yearly celebration is the refuge’s single largest fundraiser and goes towards helping the homeless, abandoned and unwanted pets of the Greater Philadelphia region. This year’s theme, Havana Nights, will transform the Simeone Foundation Auto Museum (6825-31 Norwitch Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19153) into a taste of Cuba – complete with mojito bar from Bluebird Distilling, 50’s cars, and live music.
Emceed by Steve Morrison of WMMR’s Preston and Steve, the event will recognize outstanding members of the Morris Animal Refuge community. Governor Ed Rendell will receive the 2018 Elizabeth Morris Award and Animal Planet will be receiving this year’s Grace Labouchere Award for Corporate Humane Awareness. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet adoptable puppies at the event. “We look forward to the Fur Ball year after year because it’s like no other event in the city,” said Lewis Checchia, Executive Director of Morris Animal Refuge. “Animal
lovers of all kinds get together to celebrate our four-legged friends in our biggest fundraiser.”
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards helping the homeless, abandoned and unwanted pets of the Greater Philadelphia region and will help support America’s first animal shelter with vital programs including the Lifesaver Fund, the Fostering Program, the Adoption Program, and the Low Cost Spay & Neuter Program, The Morris Animal Refuge’s 21 st Annual Fur Ball will take place on Saturday, March 10th , from 7pm (8pm for General Admission) to 12pm at the Simeone Foundation Auto Museum.
Tickets begin at $140 per person for general admission and includes 4 hour open bar, delicious Cuban fare from 12 th Street Catering, live music and dancing all night long.
